WALKING MY WAYS
WALKING MY WAYS. Today was an astonishing day. It marked the end of the second full year, that I have written my blog. Which now includes posting more than 200 entries. In that regard, people ask me what I write about. Generally speaking, it’s relatively easy. Especially, if I write about something that happened today or in the last few days. And also helps, if it is positive and uplifting. As example, I recently, was in my kitchen, and heard a knocking on my door. Not too heavy, even though I have a sign on my door saying, “Please knock loudly.” But I heard it, nevertheless.
And on the outside stood a neighbor. A young grandmother. Holding one of her grandchildren in her arms. And she beckoned me to walk on my porch. And there were more of her family, standing below. Young, old and in-between. Including three dogs and a baby stroller. And so I naturally invited them all in. ALL OF THEM. Two children between 1 and 4. Their parents. Their grandmother. A few cousins. And three dogs.
And once they were inside, we had a party. With music. Thanks to my concertina. And thanks to a slide flute, that has been laying around. And thanks to the music of two young children, laughing gleefully. And music, from our happy camaraderie. As well as some wine, juice and cookies. Although only few ate the cookies, as my friends were getting ready for dinner.
And this all happened, just after I got home from a beautiful Festival concert. At All Saints Church, In Carmel. Which was lovely. And so with the Bach Festival music ringing in my ears, I now heard even more music, from my friends. Or, as Shakespeare wrote, (in “Twelfth night.”) IF MUSIC WERE THE FOOD OF LOVE, PLAY ON.” Because music was, is, and forever will be, full of love. THANKFULLY. Finis.
